Troops of Nigeria Army engage suspected ESN members in Nsukka

 There has been apprehension in certain parts as Troops of the Nigerian Army are currently battling gunmen suspected to be operatives of the Eastern Security Network in Nsukka town of Enugu State.   There has been apprehension in certain parts of the town since Wednesday.  The military took the battle to suspected ESN operatives where they believed they were hiding. According to the source, many people have abandoned their houses and fled to neighbouring communities. “Soldiers of the Nigerian Army are currently locked in a gun battle with ESN boys in Nsukka. They have been clashing since yesterday evening and some parts of the town are still tense. Heavy shooting presently going on,” he stated.  On Tuesday eight persons were killed after Fulani herdsmen and operatives of the ESN had a violent clash in Adani area in the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State. Heavy Tension as Youths Burn Down Imo Police Station (Happening Now)  Youths of Ihitte/Uboma in Imo State, on Tuesday burnt down the police station in the community following the killing of two siblings by a policeman in the community, IgbereTV has learned.  According to eyewitnesses, the brother and sister were killed at Isiweke by a yet-to-be-identified policeman.  The angry youths have also dumped the bodies of the victims at the police station, seeking justice. Four of the gangsters were arrested last Saturday by soldiers and men of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) at Ajowa-Akoko, after abducting a Muslim cleric, Alhaji Jamiu Zakariyahu, who was returning from the mosque. It was learnt that the herdsmen apprehended one Jimoh Imoru in the forest. According to sources, the suspected kidnapper was roaming about in the bush when he approached the Fulani herdsmen to give him direction to the nearest town.
